Nice – Peyton

  • Nice is pronounced “niece” in French
  • Nice is the fifth most populated city in France with a population of about 1 million
  • The first known human settlements in the Nice area date back about 400,000 years
  • The avg. high temperature in Nice for october is 69 degrees, so it will be relatively warm there
  • In some areas there are dense forests, but for the most parts the trees are scattered around
  • Among tourists, Nice is the second most popular city, after Paris
  • Before people started to build things in Nice, it was just a big long beach area
  • In the 17th-18th centuries, the Spanish used to go to Nice as their winter vacations
  • Nice sits between two bays
  • If you were to take a train from Paris to Nice it would only take you six hours.
